Access Methods
GeoCubes Finland contents can be accessed in many different ways.
Files
GeoCubes Finland raster data repository is devided into 60 indivual blocks of size 100 km * 100 km. These files can be downloaded directly. For each block there is a separate GeoTIFF file for each resolution level. A single file is also provided for each block containing all the available resolution levels as internal overview layers. I addition, there is a virtual file (VRT) that refers to certain resolution level GeoTIFF and all the coarser levels up to 1000 m. This kind of file is provided for each resolution level available from the content layer in question.
API
A custom API has been developed for GeoCubes Finland. It provides access to GeoCubes content for flexible download and cell value requests. The area for downloading can be defined by a BBOX (boundaries of the map view), by drawing a polygon or by selecting an administrative unit (several units can be selected).
Web Coverage Service
The Open Geospatial Consortium's Web Coverage Service (WCS) interface can also be used to access the content layers of GeoCubes Finland.
